What is ITADA?

The Cross-Border Institute for Agronomic Application and Development (ITADA) is an organization dedicated to cross-border cooperation among four regions geographically linked by the Upper Rhine area:

  • Baden-Württemberg (Germany)
  • Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany)
  • Alsace (France)
  • Northwest Switzerland (Switzerland)

ITADA connects applied agricultural research with stakeholders in the agricultural sector to jointly develop concrete solutions for farming that is both profitable and environmentally friendly.

Unlike a traditional research institute, ITADA does not have its own testing stations, laboratories, or permanent research staff. Instead, it serves as a platform for cross-border cooperation, linking the expertise of institutions across the Upper Rhine region.

Cooperation is managed by a secretariat and a steering committee. Together, they define priority areas for research and development and coordinate project implementation.
